Damascus Skinning Knife - Hand Forged
Damascus Skinning Knife -
The Hand Forged Damascus IHK Skinner
Since the IHK Skinner is the most popular knife in the IHK line up why not make it in beautiful hand forged, forge welded, 300 layered beautiful damascus?
Exactly the same form and function by design of the IHK Skinner but now in Damascus
Folks ask all the time, James what's the difference between the forged 1095 hammered blade and the forged damascus blade. Well for me, it's time. The time it takes to make damascus is much longer and much more complicated. However, as far as function and / or care, they are virtually the same.
My Damascus is made from mainly 1095 High Carbon Steel and 15n20 (which is basically 1095 with just a little nickle added). So as far as durability or harness they are the same. It really just depends on you and your personal preference!!! My personal carry and preference is always just the tried and true 1095 High Carbon Steel - Hammered to perfection leaving every mark on the blade but that is just me being honest. But there is certainly a high demand for Damascus and continues to be more and more popular!
